My largest hobby project to date; America Rising 2 - Legacy of the Enclave was originally going to be an update to my Fallout 4 mod, America Rising - A Tale of the Enclave - however as its scope grew I made the decision to spin it off into a sequel instead.

I predominantly worked on this mod alone, writing the narrative & characters, implementing over 20 new quests, creating dozens of new levels, setting up hundreds of new AI routines and more.

There’s a lot I’m proud of about this project - from managing a cast of over 20 voice actors to the community that has formed around it, creating sub-mods; it has become a staple of many people’s playthroughs.

It was important to me that players could make this mod their own - I spent weeks planning and executing a framework that allows users to create their own sub-mods to alter the equipment all characters in the mod use in a dynamic fashion in such a way that avoids any risk of mod conflicts. I achieved this by creating specialized injector scripts users could use that would then hand data off to a database system I created that would in turn manage populating and removing said additional equipment from characters.

Overview of Work

  • Design
    • Performed extensive pre-production designing an engaging main quest, as well as multiple side quests, characters, locations and encounters
    • Assembled over a dozen levels ranging from small interiors to vast exterior world spaces
    • Wrote thousandsof lines of dialogue
    • Implemented numerous custom art assets and audio effects
  • Scripting
    • Used Bethesda Game Studios proprietary Papyrus scripting language to implement over 20 new missions, encounters and gameplay systems
    • Created a framework that allows users to dynamically alter the equipment of all characters
    • Designed a system that supports the main hub environment’s changes over the span of the main quest, building up in a meaningful manner over time
    • Implemented various complex scenes and cinematics
